[it's okay, sometimes my use of personification weirds me out too]
So what is included in this "real post" revival, you ask?
{::}Firstly, I am so exhausted these days. I am the quintessential Queen of Sleep, generally speaking. However, with finals breathing down my neck and trying to stay on top of all the new (exciting!) projects at work and being a semi-involved friend, I am swamped. To top it off, I don't even really have time to nap! Mostly because my most recent "naps" have ended up as three-and-a-half hour zonk sessions that leave me up until 2am doing homework anyway.
{::}Ralph is, as always, growing like a weed. A cute, rambunctious weed with sharp claws and pointy teeth and delectable snuggles and increasingly frequent hissy fits (complete with hissing and growling). He was finally discovered on a regular maintenance inspection, so we've officially made him a part of our household (read: he's expensive) and we'll be scheduling his un-manning pretty soon. I'm not sure who will be more upset by this. I like his spunk, so I'm afraid he might lose some of it. On the other hand, the hissing at babies has got to go. [dilemma]
Keep an eye on my Twitter for regular photo updates on all things Ralph. :)
{::}I still have not seen The Hunger Games. It's a sad, cold truth. The moment I find the time, the place, and the means to go, you better believe I'm there. Until then... we wait. I've heard good things, though!
{::}The jogging has slowed down considerably as the end-of-semester workload has piled higher and higher. I have started to add a few supplemental strength training workouts. I always feel like an official worker-outter when I say I "did arms" yesterday. It implies that, not only do I workout, I workout multiple times a week focusing on different areas of fitness. It's legit.
{::}I am really pumped for Easter weekend! In all of this work/school madness, I have been making more time to visit with my family and I'm loving every minute of it. I always come back from a weekend at home 3 lbs heavier but with clean laundry and a box of leftovers. It's kind of glorious. And the children!! They are getting so old. It's impossible how much their little personalities have developed lately. I mean, Hannah will be 14 this month! I was in that room when she was born, and it was nearly 14 years ago.... Inconceivable.
{::}Eur-ope. Eur-ope. Eur-ope. 47 days! Aaaaaaack!
{::}Book club is in a bit of a rough place right now. We are all so busy! We may be doing an April/May combo session to squeeze in The Handmaid's Tale. I'm pretty excited to read it. It's just one more step to conquering that Top 100. If only work and grad school would take a chill pill for a bit so I could just read for a week straight, I think I could make some real progress.
{::}Let's talk Pinterest for just a second. I have a whole board of things to try, and I've actually done two of them in the past week!
First, I made this iced coffee. LOVE!
Second, I tried this hair styling trick. I had decent success with it, but I think I'll refine the approach for next time. It definitely didn't hurt anything, and I feel like it will perform well in the future. Yay for sharing!
{::}My first blog giveaway was great success! [as Borat would say] So excited to have another one, I'm just not sure when. Toying with a few different ideas. Also, I have subscribed to several new blogs lately, mostly about clothes. What can I say? I'm just going to embrace the girliness and go with it. Also in the works -- developing my own blog button! [even more legit]
So, there you have it, folks. These are the incredibly riveting life and times of Sarah, Plain and Tall. Catch you on the flip side [which I hope involves a lot more sleeping, reading, and all manner of other pleasant pastimes]. ♥
