Every year, I want to give everyone I know the perfect Christmas present. This usually involves some combination of hand-crafted goodie and something random-from-the-WAY-on-sale-out-of-season-aisle combo. But Christmas gets here too fast! You find all of these fantastic Pinteresty projects that are gorgeous, but take time [weird] and suddenly you're only 2 weeks away from Christmas! [yeah. yikes. bikes. 2 weeks.]
We all know it's not actually about getting presents
ps. While I'm on the topic, can we all just agree that we're not in the least bit offended by sayings like, "Merry Christmas" or "Happy Holidays" or any variation thereof? Like, if I'm out somewhere and someone says, "Happy Hanukkah!" I'm not going sneer and grit my teeth because Hanukkah isn't part of my personal tradition. Who does that?? Scrooges, that's who. And I bite my thumb at them. ...but I digress.
Whatever it is about this season that makes it special for you, all I hope is that it is special. Heck, I hope every season is special in someway. Let's not limit ourselves. And the things I love very best about this time of year are universal: all of the meals spent with people we love; the exchanging of tokens to show our affections; the general jolly contentment of spirit that pervades it all.
See? You've gone and made me all poetic.
All I'm trying to say is... MERRY HOLIDAYMAS TO ALL.
Now, will someone please tell Santa I'm in need of green jello mold and a cat in a box?
I hope you're having as much fun gift shopping and wrapping and giving as I am!
