I have been "meeting" a ton of new people on the interwebs in the last few weeks! From Helene's webinar and photo challenge to #thedailybasic with Tay to The Blogging Elite to geotagging Indianapolis locations, I've been making so many new friends and I want all the details!
Here I'd like to ask one more Q about YOU to get to know you better.
How did you come up with your blog name? What is its significance?
Here's mine:
Like 5 years ago I started blogging on blogger, and my first order of business was to name the blog. I was into pirates at the time (kidding - still am) and in love with the word "picaroon." PLUCKY just happened to be an adjective that started with "P."
A year later, someone asked my IRL friend Emily, "What's PLUCKY up to these days?" When I heard, I swooned. Literally passed out in the parking lot where I stood. I LOVED IT. Okay, I didn't pass out. But that day, my alter ego PLUCKY was born and she's had some adventures, I tell you.
Sometimes, #PluckyRuns and sometimes #PluckyReads and generally PLUCKY is just down-right (p)lucky in love with her life. So, there you have it and now you can sleep a little easier at night with one less Unsolved Mystery.

ReplyDeleteOk on to the blog name. I can't quite pin point when I gained the nick name "Lolo" but I know my mom has thrown around "Lo" as my name for a long time. Then randomly one of my college roomates called me Lolo too (without ever hearing it from my mom) and I thought that was interesting. Fast forward to my first job and a fellow employee also nick named me Lolo from day 1, again not knowing I had ever had that reference as well. Maybe it's just a common one for Lauras? Who knows. Anyways, since Life with Laura was boring it became Lolo. Because Lolo just seemed so much more fabulous, fun and original. Now I almost go by Lolo more than Laura!

ReplyDeleteMy blog name: let's see, right after I got married, my sisters-in-law were messing around with me and telling me how I'm so little (because I'm the shortest but the oldest girl within the family) and how I don't even look like the older sibling amongst us all. Somewhere in the small people talk, one of the family members said, "aw Myra is the little Aslam" and voila, The Little Aslam was born! Haha.
