Am I the only one who hasn't actually set her New Year's Resolutions yet?! Although I'm behind, I've been loving reading all the posts about recaps for 2015 and inspiration for 2016. Love, I say! Rather than wallowing in my lack of goals, I'm following our new tradition of a To Do List to celebrate the arrival of a new month. We got very basic in October and November with all pumpkin everything, and in December we reunited with Mr. Potter and the Wizarding World. Time is flying, right? I can't wait to see what January has in store! Let's kick it off right with a good deed, new music, and Mr. Darcy.
Find a blood drive near you
January 4th To Do List
Find a blood drive near you
January is National Blood Donor month, and the Red Cross has a handy dandy search tool to help us all find blood drives nearby! Check it out here. I haven't given blood since high school. It's time to change that. If you can give blood, now is a great time to find a blood drive nearby and put it on your calendar.

Start a new habit for the new year
I read recently that it takes 29 days to form a new habit. Pick one of your resolutions (or any goal, really) and give it a shot for the next 29 days. Add a reminder to your calendar for every day from now until February 2nd to ensure your success!

Raid Amazon's FREE music downloads
I had NO IDEA Amazon had free (legal!) music downloads! I'm so excited. I'm on the hunt for great wedding playlist tunes, as well as new artists to fall in love with, so SCORE! I'm seriously digging their free Folk music selection. Check it out and maybe add a few things to your Work Flow playlist.

Get caught up on all things Bahamian
Tomorrow I'm hoping to post about SNORKELING IN THE BAHAMAS. You should definitely stop back by at 12 PM EST to catch all the details. If you're new to this FREE trip I got to explore the Bahamas as a BLOGGER, check out why I almost didn't go and where I stayed to get caught up.

Get a handle on your finances (for free!)
I've been using Mint.com for ages, but only recently installed the app to my phone. We're tightening our belt this year in preparation for a wedding, a honeymoon, and a move before 2017 rolls around. I like Mint as a financial tool because it tracks things for me and I only have to login to ONE place to see how I'm doing across the board, i.e. student loan payback progress, credit card balances, how my investments are performing, budgets I've set for myself. etc. This year is our year!! Download the Mint smartphone app here to get started. (ps. Not an affiliate, just truly appreciate and recommend!!)

Schedule a date with Mr. Darcy
PRIDE AND PREJUDICE (with Keira, of course) is coming to Netflix this month!!! Do I own 2 copies on DVD? YES, I DO. But now I can skip all the hassle of finding the disk, inserting it into the player, and replacing the batteries in the DVD player remote. #FirstWorldProblems I love, love, love, love this version of P&P, and I'm adding it to my List right this second. Oh yeah, a few other things were added as well. Here's the complete list. Peruse and text your favorite snuggle buddy to set up some Netflix and chillin' ASAP.

Two words - daily. dozen.
Call it a New Year's Resolution or a Wedding Diet. Whatever it's called, it's got to happen this month, this year! I recently discovered the Daily Dozen workouts from Denise Austin are free to stream on Hulu. Note: I do not have a Hulu Plus subscription, so these are legit free. Ready to get your heart rate up? Watch it here.

This is legitimately a list of things I'm going to do today. What about you? Do you have special plans to ring in January in style?! I'd love to hear about them in the comments below. ♥

Yaaass, you read my mind. My budget is first up on my 2016 revamp list. I love this feature of yours.
ReplyDeleteGreat list, girl! I need to add those Daily Dozen workouts into my routine once baby gal makes her arrival and I can get back on the exercise horse :)
ReplyDeletePRIDE AND PREJUDICE IS ON NETFLIX WHAT!!!
ReplyDeleteI also own the DVD and blu ray but WHAT. Netflix is so much easier. I wish all the Austens would come to Netflix, I'd never leave the couch.
Last night Pai & I went through our goals for the year and I said "Create and Stick to a Budget" and he laughed. I laughed too. Budgeting is hard.
